The Columbian platen press arrival

With the help of a local engineering firm and my friend Paul  the last and heaviest part of the Columbian Press arrived at its new home.

It arrived on a truck with an engine hoist of the back and three chaps from Sweeting Engineers, It had been shuffled out of a building, down a slope onto something a little more even, then the hoist took over, the feet came off and it was laid in the back of the wagon for its drive to Bracken Press.

Arriving at 9.40 a.m. with a concerted effort the press was reassembled by 6.00 p.m. that night.
