Dean Road Cemetery
Etching and Aquatint

Hahnemuhle etching 140Lbs Not
Whilst researching for this picture came across a sentence that was written in 1864 ( or thereabouts) regarding the 'much improved Dean Road Cemetery, which is visited by many people, especially on a Sunday, as a place of resort'.Which got me thinking that normally we only visit cemeteries on solumn occassions, but the idea that people would visit and stay for a while, almost like having a conversation with departed relatives.
So my picture shows two couples, a glass of wine or something is being passed to somebody just out of the picture, whilst another couple sit resting on the grass watching whatever goes by.
