This etching and aquatint came about after over hearing a conversation on a village green between some cricketers.
The story goes like this:- "you should have seen it, with a mighty fore hand smash the ball cleared the boundry and vanished through some trees". Admiring comments from the conversationalists.
"Where did it end up?" After much discussion it turns out that the ball had lodged itself in the guttering of an adjacent property, it wasn't discovered until the late aiutumn when the rainwater was overflowing from the gutter.
The ball is hand coloured in red sitting in the gutter.
Another cricketing etching with a title of :- '
was eventually completed.
