I've been visiting Robin Hood's Bay since I was a child,Aunty Alice ( not really an aunty) but thats what I called her, lived in one of the terrace houses, i would often spend the weekend there as a 'stay over', which meant I would explore the beach, the rock pools etc. Always loved the closeness of the houses.
This picture depicts a lady walking up the slipway towards the Bay Hotel, cobbled slipway, and the smugglers tunnel.
Only recently I understand that the smugglers tunnel leads under some of the houses, in which there are trap dorrs that open into the tunnel.
