Another cricket stroy, heard on the same day on the village green between a group of cricketers.
(see 'The lost cricket ball).
This second story also captured my imagination.
Whilst playing an away game, a new 'novice' player had a very lucky strike.
"Smashed the ball out of the field which headed towards the clocktower, with a mighty thud it hit the woodend structure just above the clock, bounced onto the legde and eventually hit the ground'.
In my scene, the ball remains ontop of the clocktower. It was declaired the most fabulous six of the match.
