As long as I can remember I've been visiting Whitby, my grandparents moved there from Leeds just after the 1st world war, and we would visit often so I have past remeberances of the place, summer holidays would be spent catching herrings and watching the regatta. One outstanding featurse being the Abbey with the 199 steps that leads up to it. Viewed from the whalebone on the opposite side of theharbour the fishermens cottages snuggle into the cliff. I was interested to try different mark making on this print Hard blacks & greys and grass formation.
