The Shambles is a historic street in York, featuring medieval buildings, dating back as far as the 14th century. The street is narrow, with many timber-framed buildings with jettied floors that overhang the street by several feet.
I've often visited this street, passed down it on the way to somewhere else, there used to be a gallery that stocked my pictures many years ago, no longer there unfortunately.
The Shambles, York will be included in the 87th Annual Exhibition by the Society of Wood Engravers.
